Racor Crankcase Ventilation

Environmental concerns and legislation to control crankcase emissions have increased significantly. To further reduce the total emissions of engines, it is becoming necessary to close the crankcase breather system, routing these gases into the air intake system. Excessive variations in crankcase pressure can damage seals and cause loss of oil, among other problems. As part of the ongoing innovation at Racor they have expanded their range of engine crankcase ventilation systems to deal with these problems.

The CCV systems incorporate Racor silencing, air cleaning and intake components along with the crankcase ventilation filter unit, as part of a total engine systems package. The CCV packages include 4 models; the model CCV4500, designed for flows of 10 cfm; the CCV6000 for systems with crankcase flow rates of 20 cfm; the CCV8000 for 40 cfm applications, and the NEW CCV12000 Series. The Racor CCV design incudes a crankcase pressure regulator with integral bypass valve that minimizes variation in crankcase pressure. The CCV systems also include a pop-up filter condition indicator that is mounted on the top of the unit to alert the operator of a bypass/change filter condition. The CCV units have an oil separation efficiency to 0.3 microns and use a replaceable, depth-loading, microglass fiber coalescing media. Depending on engine wear, load profile, ect., the filter media has a typical service life of 750 hours. Replacing the filter is the only routine maintenance required on the CCV systems.

CCV6000

Racor's new CCV12000 filter, CCV8000 to CCV12000 conversion kit and CCV media options deliver unprecedented levels of crankcase emission filtration, reducing vehicle operating cost considerably. The CCV12000 filter allows for up to a 25% increase in flow capacity over the CCV8000 filter, making the unit even more efficient at removing harmful crankcase emissions. As the new model shares a common head and regulator components with the CCV8000, the smaller filter can be converted simply and cost effectively using the specially designed conversion kit. Furthermore, the latest super high efficiency -10 grade media from Racor can be used in the complete range of its CCV filters to deliver efficiency levels of 90-95%. The new filter media is the most efficient of its kind and offers extremely long service life to reduce replacement costs significantly.

The Racor CCV8000 series and CCV12000 Series conversion kits are designed for applications where longer filter life is desired. The new 8000 series to 12000 series include a new 12000 series can, a new 12000 series element and a spacer pad for reduced vibration. The components increase the overall height of the CCV from 12" to 16". This allows for 60% additional filter capacity.

The additional media will aid in achieving improved efficiency and service intervals by slowing down the air which allows for improved coalescing of oil from the crankcase gases. The filter element does not contain any metal parts so it is crushable, incinerable and a cost effective environmentally friendly choice.

The new CCV8000 Series and CCV 12000 Series conversion kits are available with two different media's, the CCV55613-08 and CCV55613-10. The CCV55613-08 is a Standard High Efficiency Filter. The CCV55316-10 is a New Ultra Efficiency.
